Birth Doula Services

Congratulations on the upcoming birth of your baby/babies! I am excited to be a part of your journey into motherhood. I encourage you to give me a call to schedule an informal meet-and-greet to discuss your birth ideals and dreams. Your birth package includes:

  • Two in-home, prenatal visits: the first to discuss your birth plan, the second to discuss pain management and practice comfort methods.
  • One prenatal visit with you and your care provider, if desired.
  • Unlimited phone and email support.
  • Continuous physical and emotional support for the duration of your birth through two hours after the arrival of your child, at the location of your choosing (hospital, birth center, or home).
  • Initial breastfeeding assistance.
  • One in-home, postpartum visit – typically done a week after your birth

Postpartum Doula Services

I believe that your postpartum period, or 4th trimester, lays the foundation for parenthood. Having a newborn(s) at home can be difficult, to say the least. With a postpartum doula, it can be much easier. Your postpartum period is about your rest, recovery, bonding, and integration into motherhood. Your postpartum package includes:

  • Self-care and recovery measures
  • Evidence-based information on mother and baby care
  • Assist you in caring for your new baby/babies
  • Breastfeeding/formula feeding support
  • Assist your family with adjusting to new roles (including siblings)
  • Offer household organizational support: including prepping occasional light meals, grocery shopping, laundry, tidying, and dishwashing

Breastfeeding Counseling

Before formula, the human race survived on breastmilk. My desire is to support, care, and assist mothers whose desire is to breastfeed. Breastfeeding is one of the best things you can do for your new baby/babies from optimum and customized nutrition to numerous bonding opportunities, those that can and want to breastfeed should be able to breastfeed. I offer 3 options for breastfeeding counseling:

  • Breastfeeding Bootcamp: a class setting where we talk about the basics of breastfeeding. Topics range from the benefits of breastfeeding to the anatomy to common challenges (because while it is natural, it can be far from easy) and many more.
  • One-on-One Counseling: personal and customized in-home care and support specifically around your needs to succeed in your breastfeeding journey
  • Breastfeeding support group for moms in the military where we meet once a month on Luke Air Force Base and online in the Military Moms Breastfeeding Support Group (Maricopa/Pinal) Facebook group.

  • Frequent check-ins throughout the first night to make sure that you and baby are handling the changes well

  • Understanding of the reality of infant and toddler sleep and what may or may not be developmentally appropriate – I want to make sure you set realistic goals for sleep
